    So you like to draw, but you want to get better at it. Okay, let's make that happen! Students will be working on exercises involving negative space, value shading, portraits, contour lines, and perspective. These basics will help to build a concrete basis for an understanding of how to improve your artwork. We will work primarily in graphite, and if time permits, students can add color with the medium of their choice. A Gallery Show of our students' artwork will be extended to families following class on the final day!  Taught by Artist/Instructor Pamela Palmer B.F.A., Owner/Entrepreneur of The Artist's Apprentice.

  • Acrylic 101 for Kids

    Let's start painting with all the basics step of Acrylic Painting! We will begin by learning how the different brushes are used to create various strokes, including a lesson on the use of a pallet knife. Working on canvas, let's see what brush is the perfect match for making animal fur. Kids will select the animal friend of their particular preference and work from a photo reference or bring in a photo of your fuzzy pet if you wish! Pupils will be working from nature on other substrates as well. Register today, class size limited! A Gallery Show of our students' artwork will be extended to families following class on the final day! Taught by Artist/Instructor Pamela Palmer B.F.A., Owner/Entrepreneur of The Artist's Apprentice.
    Ages 7 & up. (As always siblings of any age are welcome to register)

  • Watercolor Painting 101

    Watercolor paintings, so fresh and beautiful! We love all of the effects that can be made with just a few techniques. Kids will be learning where to use the crystal effects of sea salt, the 'blooms' of wet-on-wet application and experiment with color overlays. This nature based series will give your child knowledge to use when they venture off into the world with their own painting ideas.Register today, class size limited!   • Kid's Clay Sculpture

    Modelling with clay is always fun! Kids will be learning how to use calipers, a tool used to gauge the dimension of an object, in our case, animal figurines! Other projects, using this self drying clay will find their way into our hands as we work with

  • loop and ribbon tools, as well as clay cutters and trimming tools. (All kid-friendly.) Students will have fun painting their sculptures as we complete our artworks.
