Register here for this summer camp! Do you have a Passion for Fashion? Let’s hit the runway with a flashy frenzy! This drawing camp will launch you on your way to expressing ideas in a way that sets them apart with professional appeal! We will be learning about body structure and balance of movement as we creatively express these concepts. Our young visionaries will be exploring various ways to set forth their innovative intentions by designing outfits in numerous sketches using ink washes with graphite, colored pencils, and markers. Other projects will include a charming paper sculpture, using specialty white papers on black card stock, and creating faerie gowns from nature elements that we scavenge we gather from an outdoor excursion. A fun use of tissue paper and watercolors will culminate in a large-scale project. This is a great opportunity to utilize that creative mind of yours, so let’s start making those gorgeous garments! Click here to reigister for this camp! So you like to draw, but you want to get better at it? Okay, let's make that happen! Students will be working on exercises involving negative space, value shading, portraits, contour lines, and perspective. These basics will help to build a strong foundation for an understanding of how to improve artwork and make it go beyond the ordinary to reach a new level of excellence! We engage in 2 or 3 projects daily with an outdoor 'en plein air' experiences as well. New this year! Art kids will utilize embossing tools and white highlighter pen in a technique to enhance the drawing of animal fur. We will work primarily in graphite, and if time permits, students can add color with the medium of their choice. Yes we do! .Let's get out our ROY-G-BIV (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet) colors and attempt the challenging task of learning how to paint a rainbow, one that looks real as it is seen in nature. Outdoor activities include making a rainbow 'bubble snake' that will be used as a colorful backdrop for the most brilliant rainbow anime characters! Kids will be working on landscapes and colorful animals like rainbow fish, chameleons, peacocks, iridescent beetle bugs, and fancy roosters. Isn't there something splendid about a prism?! We will be learning about the fracturing of light in another fun outdoor activity! Colored pencils will be used, including shimmer colors, chalk pastels, paper quilling and paint. We will be discussing which elements are required in a work of art in order to develop an effective composition, namely: the rule of thirds; iconic; and leading the eye. Sign up today for this all inclusive learning experience! Students will be engaged in the four basic avenues of art: Drawing: Painting: Sculpture and Printmaking. Each of these classifications has had a unique impact in history from artists all over the world. Each day your child will learn about various art techniques and try their hand at fun projects to capture these exciting processes! We'll be painting on canvas, making large scale drawings of animals, using clay to model faces, (human or animal), and using brayers and printer's ink on colored Unryu paper, also known as "cloud dragon paper,"in our printing process. A Gallery Show of our students' artwork will be extended to families following class on the final day! Taught by Artist/Instructor of The Artist's Apprentice. Ages 7 & up. Your kiddo will be involved in several fun and satisfying SCULPTURE ventures on these sunny summer afternoons. Get ready to get messy as we explore all sorts of modeling and carving projects! Our young artists will be making bas relief objects with papier-mâché artwork, including a recycled element. We will also explore face structure (human or animal), in a clay, glitter paint piece, and learn the basics of carving in styrofoam. These pieces will be somewhat reminiscent of Niki de Saint Phalle, so fun! If time permits, we will be making a sculpture painting out of Plasticine. Sign up today and come join the Summer Fun! A Viewing of Creation will be extended to family following class on the final day.
