Acrylic
Young artists will be painting some of their favorite subjects, including a live animal, with the versatile media of acrylics. Techniques will include opaque application on canvas board as well as experiencing the brilliance of acrylics’ translucent qualities on watercolor paper. Family and friends are invited to an Ice-Cream Social featuring a Gallery Opening following class on the final day. No experience necessary.
Gouache
Young artists will be working on technique and color theory, while painting some of their favorite subjects, which will include a live animal. Gouache will be the media explored in this fun series. (Gouache differs from watercolour in that the particles are larger, the ratio of pigment to water is much higher, and an additional, inert, white pigment such as chalk is also present. This makes gouache heavier and more opaque, with greater reflective qualities.)
